What a lot of people don’t realise is that many fashion design businesses have started out as just a small home business. In a lot of cases these businesses would even have been started from their kitchen table or spare bedroom. The fashion business is definitely a business which could be started from home and on a very small budget.
Laura Ashley was one such designer who started her design business on her kitchen table in London. She went on to build a very successful international design business.
Another international fashion designer whose fashion design talent was sown in his own home and at a very early age was the designer, Bruce Oldfield.
They, amongst other designers, have inspired many to live out their dream of owning their own fashion design business and following their footsteps to success.
The fun and pleasure of creating your own designs can start at any age. Once the fashion bug takes hold, it can be a very exciting and exhilarating time. The
adrenaline will constantly being stirred by the creation and completion of new designs. These designs may have been inspired by the most unusual items, such as a brick, the sunset, an old pattern, an architectural building, or any item.
If you find yourself sketching or doodling designs on every spare piece of paper, then you most likely have a hidden talent yourself for being a fashion designer.
Why not give yourself the opportunity to start a fashion business from your own home?
You could specialise in various niches, including women’s clothing, full size clothing, gothic clothing etc. One way of starting your business would be to create a few samples of your designs and then promote them with the help of friends at house parties to find out if they are marketable.
When you have completed this initial research, you should then take your new business to the next level, which would be to prepare your business plan.
There are certain qualities required to run a fashion design business and two of the most important ones are, tenacity and determination. There will be many times when
working on your fashion business that you will feel like giving up and this will be entirely because of the enormous amount of work involved. This is when the tenacity quality will be required. You will have to have enough determination to achieve all the dreams you have for your fashion business success.

Well, many people actually do not even challenge this question much, and just listen to what people in their company have to say about training and take their word on it.
The argument is, “These people are successful so I am going to listen to them and do what they say.”
That’s all well and good for an easy answer, but the truth is that things change all the time and sure you can model yourself after some successful people in your company; but you must ask this question as well:
“Is there a better, more effective or more leveraged way to build this business right now than what I am doing and what is being taught by those I listen to?”
In most cases the answer is YES!
From my observation, the most successful people in this industry are actually the people who had the guts to ‘go against the grain’ and do things differently and make up their own system for success.
They become true INDEPENDENT leaders and marketers and not just clones of company xyz.
The fact is, that the best network marketing education and training you can get should actually challenge you to constantly be getting better at MARKETING and should encourage the use of maximum leverage that will produce predictable results.
Let me pause here and address the age old response to ‘thinking outside the box’ in your network marketing business:
Many people (even mlm leaders themselves) tell their people, ‘Don’t try to reinvent the wheel, stick to our system.’
Well, I can tell you this much; that wheel may still be working to an extent, but if that wheel is slow and rusted I’m going to get me a new wheel that works better and is faster and is self-lubricated.
You see, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel; you just use a wheel that is more effective and efficient and make it work better for you.
For example:
Slow Wheel: Prospecting people at the mall, the store, the coffee shop, over the phone, etc. and trying to get them to a meeting, or your website, or a 3-way with a big name leader, or to try your products, or even just to listen to what you have to say.
Fast Wheel: Having your marketing messages effectively placed in niche areas where your target market is, and having THEM hunt you down and check out your materials by their own free will 24/7 while you are playing with your kids at the park, eating out, working at your day job, or even sleeping.
Now, can both of these groups get results?
Of course. There are still people using the oldest and most ineffective marketing and prospecting methods around that still get some kind of results, but what you want is to do the things that will get you the best results the quickest and the simplest over and over again in a predictable fashion, right?
So the argument here is not that some methods are totally wrong or don’t work. It’s that if there are more effective and leveraged means to build your business out there that get better results on a predictable basis, then isn’t it at least worth taking a look at?
People, by nature are afraid of change, but we must realize that change is actually what keeps the world moving.
It’s funny because networking companies themselves change, evolve, and adapt to the marketplace all the time to stay ahead and get better results; but most independent reps with these companies do not.
I think it’s time people stop being clones of their upline or of their particular company methods, and just get down to the fact that the main thing that matters at the end of the day is your actual results and how effective your efforts really are.
The truth is that I personally have been in that state where I was on every conference call, at every meeting, followed the ’system’ that they laid out for me, never listened to anyone’s advice except successful people in my own company, and worked very hard the whole way, and was told to just keep it up and it will happen.
Then I finally took my blinders off, took a step back outside the world of my company, and realized that none of that stuff matters as much as the actual results I was getting and the effectiveness of those activities.
That was the day my life and my business changed forever!
I love to challenge people to think (as is reflective in my writing), so I would just encourage you to just take some time and get back to basics and ask yourself everyday, “Is doing what I am doing right now one of the best and most effective leveraged ways to do this? Does it produce the kind of predictable results I want consistently?”
If it is, then great, give it all you’ve got. If it’s not, then look for answers wherever you can until you are satisfied.
Remember, this industry is called network MARKETING, not network prospecting or network track ‘em down.
So, if you learn how to market (not prospect, but market) more effectively, you will reap the rewards of your leveraged ways and also gain better respect from your prospects along the way.
To bring it back to the question I originally posed: What is the best network marketing training?
In my opinion, it’s simply the kind that gets you the results you want on a passive basis in a predictable fashion day after day and uses a highly leveraged vehicle to attract people to you so you can spend the majority of your working time with highly qualified prospects who have been pre-screened automatically by your own effective marketing methods that run 24/7 with or without you. Whew, that’s a mouthful
In the essence of the meaning; training that focuses on results and the effectiveness of those results on a daily basis.
Is that the type of training you are getting right now?
You can sit around and think about your ‘Why’ not being big enough or work on self-improvement, but if you are getting results in a predictable fashion, you’ll stay plenty motivated! Don’t get distracted from doing true IPA’s – Income Producing Activities.
Why do most people (yourself probably included) get into this industry in the first place? To make money and help people, right?
So, if you can do that better and more effectively (and help others do it better themselves), why not look into that kind of education and training?
Who cares if you have to go outside the sphere of your company or upline to get; just get it, and watch your business come to life!
