Himfr.com , one of China’s leading B2B search platforms with more than 30 B2B industry websites to its name, reports men’s fashion trend in 2009.

This year, men’s clothing  material will take new eco-environmental protection fabrics, make people between natural and comfortable to experience the concept of slow-paced life to achieve harmony with the environment; dare to break the traditional gender boundaries and also will be integrated into the female element in the design of men’s clothing.

In 2009, the Chinese men’s clothing will be presented three major themes:

First, the modern imagination. Men’s clothing will be greatly integrate into the high-tech, science fiction and modern elements of surrealism, what have more metal sense, lines is more concise, sharp, showing three-dimensional geometric patterns; second, trace classic.

Banker’s check, zigzag design, such as double-sided cashmere will comeback; Men clothes in the fabric selection will be favoured on a variety of new eco-fabrics and functional fabrics, colours tend to naturally clean, warm and comfortable; the third is times a hero. Designers also will break the gender limitations; will be boldly use colourful fabrics, and even introduce female element to men’s clothing design, for the tough to add a ray of mellow.

Men’s clothing industry in our country’s industry has always occupied a pivotal position. China already has such as Youngor, Saint Angelo, Heilan homes, Septwolves and so on which are well-known brand of men’s clothes in domestic market.

Although in recent years, China men’s clothing sector develop rapidly, but it also faces many questions: First of all, although China men’s enterprises meet the world’s production capacity, but the brand competitiveness relative to international men’s brand have a lot of the disadvantaged, one of the main reason is that our country men’s industry R & D and design strength is weakness. Second, our country men’s consumer clothing needs is not yet ripe.

Provisional dates for London’s fashion week are 16-23 September 2007. Fashion weeks tend to be held several months before the season, which gives press and buyers a chance to preview designs in advance. The last London Fashion Week was a huge success, bringing more than £100 million worth of business to London. Expectation is high for the next event, which many hope will be just as successful.

What We Can Expect

It’s the first fashion week since top stylist Isabella Blow died in May. As Blow kick-started the careers of both Philip Treacy and Alexander McQueen, we’re expecting to see many tributes. Models such as Lily Cole, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Agyness Deyne are being lined up to sashay down the catwalk in the latest designs.

The last London Fashion Week in February 2007 was a huge success with £40 million worth of orders and a huge £24 million of media coverage. Following London Fashion Week will be London Fashion Weekend, which takes place at the Natural History Museum and offers visitors the opportunity to purchase designer clothes at sales prices.

Next Season Predictions

We’re eagerly anticipating next season’s trends. Will next summer prove to be the season for you to dust off your capri pants? Who knows!

The Designers

Luella Bartley will show her Spring/Summer 2008 collection at fashion week, which also coincides with the launch of her new flagship store in Mayfair. It’s unclear whether Vivienne Westwood is showing this year but if she does, we never fail to be impressed by the grand dame of fashion.

It was Marc Jacobs in February but who will be the talk of Fashion Week in September? Fashion week favourite Hussein Chalayan should be returning with a collection that promises a blend of simplicity and volume. There are also rumours that John Galliano is returning to London with another one of his spectacularly outlandish collections. Inspired by the French Revolution, one of his last shows featured a realistic-looking guillotine and so we’re can’t wait to see what he’ll do this time. Hot young designer Henry Holland is also one to look out for. His cheeky House of Holland label is guaranteed to raise a smile with bitchy slogan t-shirts and androgynous styling. Needless to say, we’re expecting Julien McDonald to dazzle us with a glamourous Givenchy show.

The Fashion Industry and Model’s Health

Since the death of catwalk models Luisel Ramos and Ana Carolina Reston, fashion bosses have been under increasing pressure to ban size zero models. However, it’s unclear whether they plan to do this at fashion week. However, the organisers of Madrid Fashion Week 2006 banned models with a Body Mass Index below 18 and pressure is mounting on London Fashion Week bosses to do the same.

The Independent Model Health Inquiry has also found it “profoundly inappropriate” that young girls should be portrayed as adult women on the catwalk and have called for them to be banned from fashion week. However, it is unclear whether they will be. Lily Cole, Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell all modelled before their sixteenth birthday but should they have been allowed to?

Discover More about Fashion Week

If you’re eager for more news and gossip, stay tuned. We’ll be at the shows in September, bringing you the hottest looks straight from the catwalk.

Salad Fingers is a surreal psychological horror Flash cartoon series originally created by British cartoonist David Firth in July 2004 which gained rapid internet popularity in 2005. The San Francisco Chronicle ranked it in the “top 10″ pop culture phenomena for that year.

Salad Fingers premiered in Australia at the 2007 Sydney Underground Film Festival at the Factory Theatre. The first seven episodes were shown back to back, along with a variety of other animated short films, during the “Re-animation” session.

Summary

In the surreal cartoons, the eponymous Salad Fingers inhabits a desolate, sparsely populated post-apocalyptic world in which he revels in the delightful feeling of the textures of various objects on his “salad fingers”. He enjoys rusty articles (especially spoons) and derives similar pleasure from experiencing pain. He appears to enjoy meeting new people, though many of his acquaintances are simply avatars (such as finger puppets including Hubert Cumberdale, Jeremy Fisher, and Marjory Stewart-Baxter) for which he provides voice.

The characteristic foreboding in Salad Fingers’ journeys portends to the main character’s irrational, perhaps subconscious preoccupation with morbidity, death and fetishistic ritual. Much to the horror or perverse delight of the characters he meets, his mused and whimsical perambulations lead him toward a hopeless self-discovery in his own inert matter and helplessness, usually through his or the other characters’ exploitation. Salad Fingers’ fey demeanor and polite, inquisitive nature are seen in stark contrast to the storyline, which hints at the grotesque while keeping that unseen source of the grotesque gently at bay. The sense of impending doom drummed on by the sinister music and nightmarish, existential undercurrent is usually downplayed by Salad Fingers’ childlike curiosity and mental absentia from the charged atmosphere. As such, he renders his encounters largely innocuous and leads the viewer to believe a macabre, yet palpably delightful outcome of events has transpired.

The eerie music featured in the background is the tune “Beware the Friendly Stranger” by Boards of Canada. The dark music in the soundtrack that appears when Salad Fingers is scared is actually Firth playing the guitar, slowed down and reversed. Other music included in Salad Fingers episodes includes work credited to Brian Eno, Sigur R and Aphex Twin. David Firth frequently inserts references to Aphex Twin in his flash cartoons; for example, the Aphex Twin logo can be found on the telephone in Salad Fingers episode five. Firth has also cited the works of David Lynch, South Park, Tim Burton, the League of Gentlemen and Chris Morris as sources of inspiration.

Characters

Salad Fingers greeting his finger puppet friends. Left to right: Jeremy Fisher, Marjory Stewart-Baxter, and Hubert Cumberdale.

Salad Fingers

The main character is a bald, hunchbacked humanoid with light-green skin, and no visible nose or ears. His long, strangely-shaped fingers are his most notable feature. They were the focus of the first episode of the series, where Salad Fingers is shown deriving pleasure from rubbing various objects, particularly rusty spoons and taps. Salad Fingers appears to suffer from psychosis, and is unable or unwilling to distinguish between living beings and inanimate objects, and is frequently found talking to various inert articles (notably his finger puppets and in two cases a human corpse). He often assigns such objects proper names and appears to believe that they can communicate with him directly, sometimes voicing their perceived thoughts himself. He lives alone in a small shack (containing, among other things, an oven, bedroom, safety cupboard, radio, phone, and table) with the number 22 on the door. His talents include playing the flute and speaking French. It is implied that the desolate world Salad Fingers inhabits is the aftermath of the “Great War”, a supposed conflict which is referenced frequently throughout the episodes.

Brian Garvin asked:

The fashion industry is one that has a lot of ups and downs, and one of the prime examples of this Petra Fashions. Though it is no longer in business as of 2005, Petra Fashions was one of the leading opportunities for women to get involved in the fashion industry as distributors.

If you are considering a career like one which Petra Fashions offered, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. The first is that this one of those positions that it is difficult to succeed in if you are entering half-heartedly. Petra Fashions was offering a constantly rotating selection of styles for their distributors to work with, and more than that, they were encouraging their distributors to find creative and attractive ways of marketing them. You needed to think up new and exciting ways to sell clothes and present them in a fashion that made the statements they were making accessible.

How do you know if you’re up to something like the industry Petra Fashions put forth? The fist thing you need to keep in mind is that you should actively enjoy fashion. While knowing about it is important, having a real understanding and love of it is vital. One of the best way to sell clothes is to show people what they mean, and that when you take a good look at fashion, you are trying to understand the statements that people are making with them. With something like Petra Fashions, you would have a number of different fashions available to you and it would be up to you to figure out a way to make them desirable to your customers.

While there are many ways to market the clothing that companies like Petra Fashions produce, really the best way to do this is with a storefront. Unlike other products like candles or jewelry, there is really not a market for things like clothing parties or get-togethers. You’ll find that if you have a small shop, marketing different clothing lines like Petra Fashions is the best way to go. If you are looking for a great way find fashions like those offered from Petra Fashions, take a look online and try to find what matches your idea of unique and attractive clothing.

Before joining a company like this, make sure you secure yourself a good friend willing to teach you the ropes of Internet Marketing, or someone who is perhaps very successful off-line selling this product. It should be easy. Just find out who is already very successful in this company and interview them. See if they are willing to give you the time of day. If they are, try to find out of they have a system or marketing plan in place for you to help you succeed with this program.

Petra Fashions might be gone but the fashion market is still a thriving one that changes every day. If you have a real knack for knowing what looks good on people, take a look around and see what other fashion opportunities that you can find.

Vimal Master Craftsmen Forum held a special show for an interface with Master Craftsmen at Taj Palace Hotel here on July19, 2007. In this show the Italian Master Designers, Mr Maurizio Bonas and Mr Fragapane Salvatore, who had specially come to give a new boost to designing of fashion for men, put across the idea of how different fabrics can be used to create trendy garments for the new generation of young people. Emphasis was on designs of Italian suits and jackets. About 25 Master Craftsmen from this region attended the presentation and workshop.

”The new logo is ready and will be unveiled when we open our new shops in the end of next month,” said Vimal Textiles Vice-President,(Marketing) Chetan Desai on this occasion.

The Forum was formed on April 13th, 2007 by Reliance Industries Limited – Textile Division with the primary objective of introducing the ‘Fashion Forward’ movement in the Indian men’s formal fashion market. The purpose of this Forum is not just to usher in the new movements, thinking and trends of global men’s formal fashion; but also to expose Indian suit craftsmen to the challenges and complexities of the global formal fashion scenario, thus propagating the ‘Fashion Forward’ movement in the Indian men’s formal fashion scene.

This Forum was formed after three rounds of rigorous training sessions of the top Indian suits craftsmen by one of the top Italian suit designers, Mr Maurizio Bonas – under the aegis of Vimal, the fabric brand of Reliance Industries Limited – Textile Division.

The Vimal Master Craftsmen Forum is all set to blaze a new path in the Indian men’s formal fashion scene. This interaction is all the more unique, due to its emphasis on the practical aspect of suit-making – a truly first-time event in India.

Brand Vimal

Vimal, Reliance’s textile brand is one of the oldest, most popular and iconic brands of India. The two words – Only Vimal – are testimony to this popularity of Vimal.

Launched in 1980, Vimal is well-known as a brand that positioned itself as a premium men’s wear brand and went on to make itself a fashion brand using celebrities (living legends, actors and cricketers) as endorsers for the first time. Along the way, Vimal became famous for making fashion available to the masses across the country through its wide range of synthetic fabrics.

A trendsetter and an innovator in the Indian textile market, Vimal’s expertise has been amply demonstrated by its continuous milestones. With a substantial manufacturing capacity, Vimal had always possessed the wherewithal to manufacture a range of shirting fabrics, worsted fabrics and synthetic fabrics for apparel, suits and trousers.

Vimal has the ability of producing the finest suiting in the world using super fine wool count (from 80s to 120s) and blending the same with superfine polyester and other specialty fibres, like Cashmere, Angora, Mohair, Linen, Bamboo and Soya.

In addition, Vimal also enjoys the milestone of exporting the largest amount of worsted fabric globally to well-known brands like Levis – Dockers, Haggar, Nautica, Perry Ellis, Oscar de la Renta – to name a few.

Today, Vimal is in the process of re-inventing itself to appeal to the contemporary consumers –younger aged men across the country. Vimal would position itself in an appropriately young, trendy and premium manner to connect with this audience.

In this reinvention, Vimal would utilize its simple and evocative baseline ‘Only Vimal’ and its haunting musical signature tune, to its best advantage.

Himfr.com , one of China\’s leading B2B search platforms with more than 30 B2B industry websites to its name, reports the four fashion trends of sanitary ware in 2009.

In 2009, select household materials will base on the health of environmental protection, personalization simple and functional principle of the primacy of consumption. Madisen Harper asked:

I’ve never been one who loves ’serving customers’, I’m a far greater fan of being on the receiving end of good service. So when I received a request from one of my team members to return a phone call from a man who wanted to speak to “someone in charge”, I had a feeling I may need to brush up on my ‘how to deal with difficult customer’ skills.

When I called the customer he asked me if I had read the email. Of course, I had to clarify which of the thousands of emails sent to and from our company each day he was referring to and he identified a recent piece of marketing correspondence.

Once I had it front of me, he demanded, “Well, can you see a problem with it?” When I said “No” he huffed and referred me to a sentence that had the words “employee’s time”. He confidently advised me that there shouldn’t be an apostrophe.

Initially I was dumbstruck that somebody would waste their time ringing up about an apostrophe, but once I regained my speech I politely advised him that I believed the wording was correct. It was the time belonging to the employee and therefore the apostrophe indicated a possessive noun.

Twenty minutes later there was no reasoning, no other issues and no winning. He accused me of not being able to see the error as it was an “Americanization of grammar”, I didn’t realize America had its own apostrophe system. When I told him I wasn’t from the U.S. he accused, “You’ve got an American accent!”

The conversation continued its decline and he asked that the situation be escalated to the CEO as he, incorrectly, believed that an apostrophe was not supposed to be in an email.

Temporarily falling into little girl mode I thought, ‘I’m going to get into trouble’, which I thankfully realized was ridiculous.

I hung up feeling extremely frustrated. It was like being bound and gagged, as I believed I wasn’t able to express myself because I was representing a company that I was consulting for and didn’t own. What I really wanted to say was, “I’m going to end this conversation as we’re not getting anywhere. I’m sorry if you believe the grammar is incorrect, but it’s not, so let’s agree to disagree and not waste any more of each other’s time. Goodbye.”

This guy was nothing compared to previous customer conversations I experienced when owning a plus-size fashion business with my best friend, Ivana. We held fashion parades throughout the city and one day I received a phone call from a woman complaining about one of our models. “I can’t believe you let a size 26 woman on the catwalk. I was embarrassed for her as she strutted her stuff, looking so confident. She was obese and had rolls of fat. I’m her size and I’d never look that happy and confident wearing clothes.”

How do you respond to that? She was obviously displacing her insecurities onto our confident model and Ivana handled it perfectly, “I’m sorry you feel that way, but we’re often commended for using beautiful women who represent all body sizes”.

It was overhearing Ivana’s response that I learned “sorry” wasn’t an apology, but a statement of understanding the complainer’s feelings.

Fortunately, Ivana had extensive experience in customer service ranging from: clients who loved her work as a web designer until they received the bill, to her stint as a customer service representative at a health care company where she took a call from a lady complaining how painful it was to remove her sanitary pad, the cause? Let’s just say, she wasn’t facing the adhesive side towards her underpants. Or, how about the diabetic who complained that a sugar substitute she used to bake a cake caused her blood sugar levels to skyrocket. When they asked how many slices she ate, she admitted to eating the entire cake. She obviously forgot about the carbohydrate component.

As I gladly escalated the apostrophe issue to the CEO’s secretary it got me thinking, is it OK to accept unreasonable behavior from a customer because you don’t want to jeopardize the reputation of the firm you work for?

If customers have legitimate complaints they have a right to be assertive, but not aggressive or rude. I felt trapped because I wasn’t clear on the company’s policy for handling these situations, so in reality, I probably tolerated a lot more than was necessary.

Does your company have a policy that outlines when it’s OK to say, “Enough is enough” and you know your actions will be supported?

What about those in front-line positions, who may frequently deal with unreasonable people, you’ve got to ask, “How does this affect me psychologically and how can I avoid getting fired when protecting myself against clients I really want to tell to take a hike?”

Maltreatment should not be tolerated by organizations, so if there’s no complaints handling policy, ask for one to be created that is fair to both the customer and employee. Remember, we may be workers, but we’re not whipping boys (or girls)!

Omar Ejaz asked:

You know you’re destined to be a fashion designer if you: a) spent most of your childhood making clothes for your Barbie dolls instead of playing with your friends; b) read fashion magazines instead of your school books; c) ran a boutique out of your basement at age 10. In other words: if you want to be the next Yves Saint Laurent, it helps to be completely and utterly obsessed with fashion.

However, there are many aspects of the profession. Working as a fashion designer can just as well mean supervising a design team at a sportswear company as producing a label under your own name. Although the former career may not seem as glamorous as the latter, it certainly will make your life less stressful. To create your own label takes a lot of time, dedication and hard work. Not to mention living just above the poverty line for several years.

Choosing a strategy

There are as many different ways to embark upon a fashion career as there are styles of design. Ralph Lauren’s Polo empire was founded on a small tie collection that he sold to Bloomingdales. Helmut Lang decided to open his own clothing store when he couldn’t find a t-shirt that he liked. Michael Kors built up a network of customers by selling clothes in a trendy NYC boutique. However, most people find that the best foundation for a design career is to get a fine arts degree in fashion at a prestigious school. Besides teaching you the craft, a good school will also add credibility to your resumé. “We live in a brandname society, and having the name of a good school behind you really does help,” says Carol Mongo, Director of the Fashion Department at Parsons School of Design in Paris.

Applying to a school

There are a lot of colleges that have fashion programs, but only a handful has the kind of reputation that can really push your career. It’s hard to enter these schools as competition is high, and they tend to be very selective. You apply by sending a portfolio of drawings of your designs. “We can’t teach you how to be creative – you have to bring your creativity to us and let us lead you on your way,” says Carol Mongo. She recommends students to get some sewing experience before they apply. Drawing is also an important skill for a designer – it is the way you communicate your ideas. In order to build an impressive portfolio it’s a good idea to have some experience in sketching; taking art classes will help you understand form and proportion. But you don’t have to be an expert drawer to get accepted to a school. “The most important quality that we look for in our students is that they are truly passionate and exuberant about fashion,” says Mongo. “If you have wonderful ideas but can’t draw, there are always ways to get around it. You could for example put your designs on a mannequin and take pictures of it.”

What school will do for you

Most fashion programs are three to four years long. During that time you will take fine arts classes and study drawing, color composition and form. You will also learn pattern making, draping and cutting techniques. One of the most important advantages of design schools is that they work really closely with the industry. Parsons, for example, have “designer critic projects” where successful designers like Donna Karan and Michael Kors work directly with the graduating students. Ambitious students also have the chance to win prestigious awards and grants, which bring them a lot of attention as well as financial support. One very important event is the fashion show at the end of the last semester, when graduating students show their collections. A lot of important people from the fashion industry attend these shows to scout new talent. It’s also an opportunity to be really outrageous and get noticed by the media. Hussein Chalayan, for example, became instantly infamous when he showed rotting clothes that he had buried in his backyard for his graduation show at Saint Martins.

Alternative routes

“Let’s be realistic,” says Carol Mongo at Parsons, “School’s not for everyone. If you’re just looking to get a job in the fashion industry – not a career as a designer – you probably don’t need to go school.” If you want to work as a seamstress or a patternmaker, the best thing is probably to apply for an internship at a fashion house and work your way up. However, there are many examples of famous designers who started out as interns with no formal training. For example, Dior’s brightest new star, men’s wear designer Hedi Slimane, had a degree in journalism when he started working with men’s wear designer José Levy. Balenciaga’s Nicolas Ghesquière is another example of a brilliantly successful designer who learned the jobs hands-on, as an assistant at Jean-Paul Gaultier. Usually, you apply for an internship by sending a portfolio to a fashion house you’re interested in. But it’s a good idea to call them up beforehand to see exactly what they need. It’s also important to note that competition is fierce, and unless you have personal connections, it’s very difficult to get an internship without an education.

There are also designers, like Luella Bartley, who started their own business after working as stylists for several years, thus building an industry network as well as a good marketing sense.

Understanding the business

Unfortunately, it’s not enough for a designer to be creative; you also have to have some business sense. As fashion gets more and more corporate driven, it’s important to be aware of the business climate and understanding the mechanics behind it. By religiously reading trade papers like “Women’s Wear Daily” you will get a lot of valuable information. If you want to run your own company, you need to be extremely organized and learn at least the basics of economics. A lot of fashion schools are currently increasing business classes in their curriculum. “Our students have to be smart enough to know how to negotiate a contract, or to pick a business partner,” says Carol Mongo. It’s perhaps telling that many of the designers that are really successful today, like Calvin Klein or Tom Ford, are involved in every aspect of the business – from licensing strategies to ad campaigns to actually designing the clothes.

The pilot episode was filmed on location in Fillmore, California, and sets for Jericho were built at a studio in Van Nuys, California.

There was an actual location in Kansas named “Jericho”. It was a post office in Larabee Township, Kansas in Gove County, and folded in 1923. Oakley is the closest community that matches the fictional Jericho’s apparent location, and some route numbers from the “official” CBS map of Jericho match, but Oakley is in almost entirely in Logan County.

The setting

Episode and mapping observations on the location of Jericho

According to an “official” map of Jericho shown on the CBS website, Interstate 70, State Route 83, and State Route 40 converge in Jericho; but in the real world, Interstate 70, U.S. Route 83, and U.S. Route 40 converge in Oakley, Kansas, which is 70 miles from the Colorado border. Despite the similarity in numbered routes to the real-life convergence of highways in Oakley, the map shown by CBS does not conform to the actual road configuration. A fan organization chose Oakley as the venue for a September, 2007 convention, as they believed it was the “actual” location of the fictional town.

Also according to the “official” CBS map, a railway line passes through Jericho which approaches from the east and splits into a northern route and a southern route. In the real world, this also occurs in Oakley.

Also in the pilot, Jake Green is seen driving along a two-lane highway leading from Denver into Kansas, and passes a road sign that lists distances to Jericho, Wichita, and Kansas City.

In episode 2, Fallout, Jericho is established in dialogue as being near Interstate 70 and northeast of Goodland, Kansas. This would locate Jericho near Colby, Kansas, the only point on I-70 in Kansas which is northeast of Goodland.

In episode 3, Four Horsemen, a map is seen on the wall which places Jericho in the same location as Ness City, Kansas.

In episode 11, Vox Populi, Robert Hawkins is tracked via a satellite view which focuses on a location in west-central Kansas, rather than northwest Kansas.

In episode 15, Semper Fidelis, the fake Marine unit that appears in Jericho makes a specific reference to being in “northwest Kansas.”

In episode 19, Casus Belli, Jericho is shown on a map as being located at the intersection of County Road 122 and Route 6. This contradicts all previous evidence, including the “official” CBS map.

In episode 22, Why We Fight, Robert Hawkins accesses coordinates 3906?38.36?N 9927?17?W? / ?39.1106556 99.45472? / 39.1106556; -99.45472 which place Jericho a few miles north of Hays, Kansas; and the Heather Lisinski character finally establishes in dialogue that Jericho is in “Kansas, not far from the Colorado border.”

Geography

Although the show depicts Jericho as having rolling hills, trees, and a salt mine, the northwest corner of Kansas is flat farmland except for a rough “badlands area” known as the Arikaree Breaks in far northwest Cheyenne County, Kansas near the town of St. Francis, Kansas. There are very few trees or hills, and no salt mines. The Kansas salt mines are located in the south-central part of the state near Hutchinson, Kansas. In the first episode, Jake sees the mushroom cloud while looking over mountainous terrain a short drive from Jericho. Mountains are not visible from Kansas, not even near the Colorado border; they are visible only within 90 miles from Denver in clear weather. Because the Smokey Hill River does exist, the Smokey Hill Bridge mentioned in the third episode could exist,…(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about baby rompers, capacitor size, .
